Are you family friendly?
Yes. We welcome families at Mill Meadows, and provide some games and activities for children. However, all children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are very welcome at Mill Meadows, but due to neighbouring livestock and respect of fellow guests, all dogs must be kept on a lead or tethered at all times, and must be cleared up after. No exceptions. A dog waste bins, and poo bags are provided.
Can I have a fire pit, BBQ?
Under normal circumstances, yes. However, rules and laws do change with extreme weather conditions. Please check with the Mill Meadows team.
Do you have EHU?
No, we do not provide electric hook-up at this time.
What camping vehicles are permitted?
Mill Meadows is run as a pop-up campsite. In accordance to licensing laws, campervans, motorhomes and tents and roof tents are permitted. We cannot accept caravans, trailer tents or any camping accommodation that is towed.
What is a pop-up campsite?
Mill Meadows runs under a restricted temporary licence that allows us to open 50 pitches for up to 60 nights. These nights are not date specific but must be between 1st May and 30th September.
Is the ground level?
We do have an area of level ground at the top of the fields, however the majority of Mill Meadows is on a slope. Please remember to bring your chocks!
What’s with the cracks?
We are based on a very heavy clay soil. During extreme weather the clay dries, hardens and shrinks significantly, causing cracks to open across the fields. The dryer the weather, the worse the cracking.
In contrast to dry weather, in extreme wet weather the soil can become waterlogged
Although this is nature and the soil just doing its thing, we are exploring options to try to minimise the effects.
We are open to any credible suggestions on How to deal with this!
What bus routes are you on?
We have Binfield Corner bus stop located on Fairlee Road at the top of the main field. The number 5 bus goes to East Cowes and the number 9 bus goes to Ryde or Newport bus station, where you can catch any bus to any part of the island.
